more music...

I thought I’d pop in and express my frustration on how it's very hard to find a really nice restaurant to go to in Edinburgh. Ok, it's not that hard but the thing is you know how on Saturday I'm going to see this Jazz concert with my boyfriend on Saturday, well I've decided that I think it would be nice if we went for something nice to eat after the show, the thing is, I don't have a Scooby doo clue of where to go! It has to be near by, it has to be classy. There are two things that make this difficult, 1. It has to be somewhere that my Ben would like, not too similar to the place that he works at, 2. I have to be able to afford it!

The latter concerns me more...

I have my eye one two places at the moment The Blue Bar Cafe and one called the Atrium, and I can't decide which one to pick! GGRGGRRRRRR!!! Both are very similar and close to where the concert is going to be held, so I guess to night I’m going to have a nosey as I can get a clearer idea of what’s out there.

Speaking of very nice restuarants and Ben, the one that my B manages got a rather nice review in The Metro this morning!

Did I mention that we're going to see the Wayne Shorter Quartet ? Yeah, that's the guy that we're gonna see. Ben figures it out, so it's no longer a surprise. We were listening to some music, Miles Davis I think it was and Ben was talking about him and his group and he happened to mention Wayne Shorter, I happened to expand on what he said, and he said you happen to know quite a bit about this guy for someone who doesn't know a lot about jazz... he then put two and two together, and asked me if we were gonna see this guy and I tried to deny it all, but my face was a dead give away! lol! I'm usually a good liar, but at the same time I wanted him to know!

OMFG! let's just say that my Benjamin is a very very VERY happy man! He couldn't believe it! At first, he thought that I was messing around, taking the piss and stuff, but then he was like i can't believe it! The man is a fucking legend!. I can't fully appreciate it at the moment, cuz, like I said, I don't have a clue about jazz, so Ben proceed to tell me how accomplished this man is and how unique he is. Now I'm the one who's look forward to this! *sigh* It's gonna be an awesome night I can tell!

I can't get over how happy Ben is! I should trust my instincts more often me thinks!

Remember in my last entry I mentioned that I wanted some Saint Germain Cd's well guess what? GUESS WHAT!?!?! Mentioning to my Benjamin he gave me two CD's Boulevard and Tourist and I likey! Very funky!

I really like both albums a lot! so because of this I went on to buy

OMG! Talk about electro-jazz, this CD is AMAZING! this is NOT the Saint Germain artist that brought the album Boulevard and Tourist to the table. This is a compilation of some rare jazz cuts remixed by some exceptional dj's and given the sort of spin and flavor that you would expect from the jazz district of Paris, Saint Germain. It's the type of thing you hear in rather nice cafes me thinks....Some nice jazzy beats, soulful sax's and instruments. I bought this on Monday.

God, I love music. I would absolutely DIE if music was taken away from me. Seriously I would. Music can be such a wonderful way for one to express ones self...and speaking of nice music to express ones self...Carte Blanche volume 2

To be heard on Saturday night/Sunday morning *wink* I bought this on Monday also, it was on sale. I'm an absolute sucker for CDs! I was in Fopp (my FAVE CD store) on Saturday and I was only intending to buy CD's from the £5 section Kind of Blue by Miles Davis being one of them. But no, just because some kinda interesting ambient CD was playing I had to by it cuz I dig it! It should stop! I'm gonna have no money!

Other than that there is absolutely NOTHING interesting going on. Was feeling really sorry for myself on Sunday/Monday because I was feeling really I’ll, I couldn't face going into work on Monday (raspy voice, not particularly sexy) so I called in sick and had the day off. I did however start to feel better through out the day so I went out to get my eyebrows shaped at Pure Nail and Beauty and by CD's and rather nice underwear.... bad me I was supposed to be ill, but I can't help but have a wee bit of fun!

I have Friday and Monday off work! woo hoo!
